Marija Ninković

Marija Ninković is a Software Engineer at NIT Institute and an AI Business Lab Instructor at NIT Academy. She is also a Ph.D. student in Computing and Control Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, where she previously earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
At NIT Institute, she works on the development, integration, testing, and validation of autonomous driving software, with a focus on autonomous vehicle technologies, simulation environments, and automotive safety standards. Her work involves ROS 2, Autoware, and real-world autonomous vehicle testing.
Her academic and research interests include advanced control theory, model predictive control, optimization, machine learning, embedded systems, and intelligent autonomous systems. During her doctoral studies, she aims to further explore advanced control and optimization methods and their application to complex engineering systems.
She has previous experience in AI engineering, including neural networks, AI agents, data analysis, and workflow automation. She also served as a Student Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, supporting practical courses in digital systems, parallel programming, and real-time operating systems.
Beyond automotive engineering, she is interested in the practical application of artificial intelligence to simplify everyday tasks, improve productivity, and automate business processes. Her emerging research interests also extend to biomedical engineering, particularly the application of control theory, mathematical modeling, and optimization methods to biological systems and medicine.
