From Zero to ML Hero: from problem definition to model selection and deployment

In the new age of artificial intelligence that is present in every aspect of our life, knowing how to recognize the problem and then successfully applying the best metrics and models to solve it is the key to the success of applied AI and its practitioners. Because of that, we are organizing a new NITUP with the topic: “From Zero to ML Hero: from problem definition to model selection and deployment”.

Our special guest is Jelena Kocić PhD, a member of the Serbian AI Society, Senior SW Dev/Team Lead at TTTech Auto.

She says that in order to solve natural language problems, we are not going to use computer vision methods (such as object detection) and vice versa.

“However, the line between domains is not that strict, and we may use LSTM models not just for speech recognition and stock price prediction, but also for action recognition from videos. At this NITUP, we are going to tackle how to identify problems, select metrics, methods, and models to solve the defined problem, and finally, how to measure the success of our actions and deploy the right solution – across the variety of domains,” Jelena says.

The possibilities for Artificial Intelligence truly seem limitless at this point; from helping scientists develop new treatments faster than ever thought possible, to improving customer service experiences through automated chatbots - there's no doubt that it will continue making waves throughout various industries in the years ahead!
